山で太陽光を背に受けた時、正面の霧や雲に映る自分の影の周りに光の輪が現れる大気光学現象。語源はドイツ語のbrocken。

氷河の侵食によってできた広いU字型の谷のこと。中央アルプスの千畳敷カールなどが有名。カールとも。

アイゼンに同じ。語源はフランス語のcrampon。
